Mount Harriet is a national park known for collection and conservation of flora and fauna special and it also offer some of the most enviable views for miles around being a mountain peak. It is the highest point in South Andaman which provides peek into neighboring island.

Mount Harriet is roughly 15 km by ferry from Port Blair. Havelock and Ross Islands can be viewed from this peak and make for an exceptional backdrop. One can also go trekking till Madhuban through the jungle and explore the area. The Madhuban trek is roughly 16 km and is an exhilarating experience.

 There are a lot of mountains in the park ranging from an elevation of zero to 481 meters. The steep slopes in the eastern part of the park and the beaches formed of rocks immersed into the small sandy areas are the adjoining beauties. Numerous small streams starting from the hills and flowing into the sea are the chilling factors living inside the park. There are tribes living inside the park which are Negrito groups who do hunting jobs for a living.


 Since the park has a lot of adventurous spots, it is considered as the best trekking trail on the island and the pathways going through the beach give cherishing memories to the visitors. Nature walk, birding, hiking etc are some of the inevitable activities done by people coming to visit the park.

Timings: The park is open from 07:00 am to 05:00 pm on all days.

Entry fee: Indians: INR 25 per person, children: INR 10 per child

Foreigners: INR 250 per person

Camera fee: INR 25

Profession photographers can take their gadgets with them by paying INR 200 and if you want to shoot video, then you have to pay INR 3000.

Distance from Port Blair: Mount Harriet National Park, once a forest reserve is located at a distance of 20 kilometers from Port Blair, the capital city of the union territory.
